South African Storyteller to Hold Workshop for Students

Internationally known storyteller Dorian Haarhoff will be at the University of Colorado Boulder on Thursday October, 21st at 4 pm in the Aspen room in the UMC to offer a storytelling workshop.

Haarhoff is a South African and naturalized Namibian storyteller, writer, poet, and motivational speaker.  Haarhoff’s work has a mythological and psychological atmosphere and also utilizes new physics and the narrative therapy.

He wrote his first poem at age 11 when his father died, from then on he has had a profound passion for writing.  Haarhoff also has several published books including Bordering, School Songs, Desert December, Guano Girl, and Alice in Welwitschialand.  Haarhoff is with the writing department at the University of Capetown and prior to that he was an English Professor at the University of Namibia.

Along with his student only workshop on campus, Haarhoff will also have a free storytelling performance on Sunday October 17th at 2pm at the Boulder Public Library. More on that talk here.  More information about Dorian and his works can be found on his website.
